Doorstep adventures – Only customer in the local…

It was Boxday day evening, snow was forecast but in my ever doubtful mind, I did not believe them. So much so, I had not bothered to fix the slow puncture on the fat bike. My little one was put to bed during the initial stages of the snow ‘storm’ and a buffet tea was organised for my wife and myself (I love Christmas time, making up party teas from left overs!). Whilst tea was being prepared, we both looked out of the window and my wife announced “You got to get yourself out there!”

And so I did, the puncture repaired in swift time and winter clothing was put on. I went the long to the local pub, about an hours worth of riding, leaving me with the shorter, 15 minute ride home. I felt like a hero walking into the pub, covered head to toe in snow. I slowly supped on a pint of Timothy Taylors whilst listening to the landlady harp on about the good old days of snow storms…
